Class and Workshop Offerings

by Lawren Rose Photography

While we love to create custom classes and workshops to meet your specific learning needs, we also have several that we hold throughout the year at our Plano location. We are also happy to hold one of these classes privately in your own kitchen for you and a couple friends. Participants are welcome to join our closed Facebook group for continued cooking support.

We use organic ingredients whenever possible (reserving the right to substitute ingredients as needed), as well as stainless, wood, and heat-resistant silicon cookware and tools as appropriate.

Fearless Fermentation Workshop/Make & Take
Tired of spending tons of money on small containers of fermented veggies and gut shots at the store? Heard the buzz about the benefits of probiotics? Curious about how fermented veggies are made? You’ll be amazed at how quick and easy it is to preserve your own veggies, enjoy their health benefits, and save money at the grocery store. We will discuss the process and benefits of fermentation, needed supplies, food safety tips, and troubleshooting. We will make brine, and then you will pack 4, one-quart jars with seasonal vegetables to complete the fermentation process at home over the next 1-2 weeks. You will also receive handouts and a recipe packet. 2.5 hrs, $55.

Herbal Remedies Workshop/Make & Take
Be prepared with both preventative and curative measures for cold and flu season. We will discuss herbs and other natural immune supports, and then make elderberry syrup, master tonic/fire cider, golden turmeric tea, and immune-boosting chai. You will take home an 8 oz jar of finished elderberry syrup, a 32 oz jar of started master tonic with instructions on how to complete it at home, a jar of immune-boosting chai tea blend, information about immune-boosting herbs and spices, and a recipe packet. 3 hrs, $70

Soulful Soups
We will make three different seasonal vegan, gluten-free soups, discussing how to modify recipes to suit your families needs. We will also look at different garnish options to elevate your creation from straight out of the pot to a restaurant-worthy presentation. 2.5 hrs, $50.

Gluten Free Baking I
Gluten-free baking goes beyond substituting with rice flour. We will discuss and experiment with appropriate substitutes for gluten as well as dairy, eggs, and other highly allergenic ingredients. We will also cover how to modify your old recipes to fit your new lifestyle needs and where to purchase special and hard-to-find gluten-free ingredients. We will make our own gluten-free all purpose flour blend, a loaf of bread, pancakes, and a chocolate bundt cake with spiced apricot glaze which you may sample in class. 2.5 hrs, $50.
Please indicate any food allergies and intolerances when you register. The kitchen is not completely gluten-free and despite appropriate precautions, cross-contamination with gluten or other allergens may occur.

Gluten Free Baking II
In this gluten-free focused class, we will discuss and experiment with appropriate substitutes for gluten as well as dairy, eggs, and other highly allergenic ingredients. We will make our own whole grain flour blend, from which we will create millet bread, “anything” muffins packed with veggies that will leave your toddler begging for another, pizza dough, and a seasonally inspired cheeseless pizza. 2.5 hrs, $50.
Please indicate any food allergies and intolerances when you register. The kitchen is not completely gluten-free and despite appropriate precautions, cross-contamination with gluten or other allergens may occur.
