The Over-Supplementation of Our Health Goals

In the modern world, where chronic illnesses and stress-related conditions are rampant, it’s easy to turn to supplements as a quick fix for our health issues. While supplements can play a valuable role in creating therapeutic change or supporting our ongoing well-being, they are not a substitute for the foundational work necessary to achieve true health

To achieve lasting health, we must address the root causes of our conditions and ensure our body’s fundamental needs are met. Popping a pill can fall woefully short.

You see, supplements alone cannot do the “hard work” for us that unfortunately needs to be done to achieve deeper layers of health. The emotional, psychological, and metaphysical aspects. The facing of uncomfortable truths about ourselves, or the letting go of an old unmet desire in a relationship, or painful trauma wounds. A pill can’t fix that for us. But if we rely on pills to tend to these deeper aspects of healing, we may mask symptoms or miss the opportunity to resolve some of the underlying root causes of our health concerns.

Engaging in and resolving “hard work” items helps the body to feel safer, cognitively, intellectually, emotionally, and even at a cellular level. This is critical because at the core of many chronic illnesses is a body that doesn’t feel safe.

Therefore, to rebalance your body, it’s not enough to simply feel safe on an intellectual level; your cells must also experience this safety. This is where the Cell Danger Response (CDR) plays a crucial role.

Our cells, specifically, the mitochondria, are constantly scanning the environment for threats at a very primal level. The CDR is a protective mechanism that cells initiate when they sense danger or stress, such as from infections, toxins, missing nutrients, or trauma. When cells perceive a threat, they shift from their normal functions into a defensive state. This response is crucial for short-term survival, but when the CDR is chronically activated and defending the body, it can lead to long-term health problems.

In a state of chronic activation, chronic stress, our cells can essentially get stuck in “danger mode.” This can manifest as chronic fatigue, autoimmune conditions, mood disorders, and other health issues. The key to shifting out of CDR mode and rebalancing the body towards health is by helping the cells feel safe again, so they can return to their normal, daily functions.

And this is where setting up the foundational work in our healing journey becomes critical. Not pills.

One of the ways to assess whether cells are in a threatened state is through Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA). HTMA is a non-invasive test that measures the levels of minerals and toxic metals in the hair, providing insight into the body’s overall mineral status and metabolic functioning. Certain HTMA patterns can indicate that the cells are in a state of stress or danger, helping to identify underlying imbalances that may be contributing to chronic illness.

In my new hybrid 1:1/group program, (coming soon!!), HTMA will be used as the first assessment tool for everyone. It’s non-invasive and provides a wealth of data. By analyzing mineral imbalances and toxic metal accumulation, we can gain a deeper understanding of how the body is responding to stress and what foundational work needs to be done to support healing. This approach allows us to address the root causes of illness, rather than just managing symptoms with supplements, and get quicker, deeper results.

To truly heal, we must focus on the foundational aspects of health: nourishing the body with whole foods, getting deep restorative sleep, addressing emotional and psychological wounds, managing stress, and creating a safe environment for the cells. While supplements can provide valuable support by replenishing nutrients and helping improve inner balance, they are not a replacement for doing the foundational work necessary for true healing. By understanding the role of the CDR and using tools like HTMA to assess mineral patterns in the tissue, we can address the root causes of chronic illness and support the body’s natural healing processes.

In my new hybrid program, we’ll focus on this holistic approach, helping you build the foundation and appropriate resilience needed for lasting wellness while also addressing your gut issues and low energy at the same time.
