The Gut Lab

Deeper support for complicated gut health

The Gut Lab

You’ve tried.

You’ve changed your diet, tried supplements, run tests, followed protocols, and probably spent more time researching your gut than you ever intended to.

Maybe some things helped. Maybe some didn’t. Maybe you got a little better and then hit another wall.

And you’re still wondering: What am I missing?

The Gut Lab is my longer-term, individualized approach for people who are ready to take a deeper look at their gut health and work through the picture over time.

When your gut is more complicated than a single appointment

Some gut concerns are relatively straightforward. You need a focused assessment, a few practical changes, and some support putting them into place.

Other situations have more moving pieces.

Maybe you’ve been dealing with digestive issues for years. Maybe food reactions, bowel changes, energy, nutrition, and other health concerns seem to overlap. Maybe you’ve already had testing and you’re not sure what any of it actually means. Or maybe you’ve tried so many things that you’re no longer sure what helped, what didn’t, or what you’re supposed to do next.

That’s where a longer-term approach can make sense.

The Gut Lab gives us the time and space to look at the bigger picture, prioritize what matters, implement changes, and learn from how your body responds.

No protocol-in-a-box

I don’t start every person with the same testing panel, supplement stack, or 12-step gut-healing protocol.

Your starting point is based on your history, your symptoms, your nutrition, what you’ve already tried, and the information you already have.

Sometimes the next step is surprisingly simple.

Sometimes we need more information.

Sometimes something you thought needed fixing isn’t actually where we should spend our energy.

The point is to figure out what matters most right now rather than throwing everything at you at once.

Testing is a tool, not the starting point

You may eventually benefit from additional testing, but I don’t believe in testing simply because we can.

When testing makes sense, we’ll use it to help answer a question, clarify a pattern, or guide what we do next.

That might include targeted assessment of the microbiome, mineral status, or other areas that are relevant to your particular situation.

The test doesn’t become the plan. Your response to the information helps shape the plan.

How we work together

01

Understand

We start with your story.

We’ll look at your health and digestive history, nutrition, symptoms, previous testing, supplements, lifestyle, and the things you’ve already tried.

02

Prioritize

There may be ten things we could work on.

We figure out which one or two actually deserve our attention first.

03

Implement

Then we put the plan into real life.

I’m interested in what works on a laboratory report, but I’m equally interested in whether you can actually live with the plan on a Tuesday night when everyone is hungry and nobody planned dinner.

Small, practical changes are often more useful than a perfect plan you can’t sustain.

04

Reassess

Your response gives us information.

If something helps, that tells us something. If it doesn’t, that tells us something too.

We use what we learn to decide what comes next rather than blindly continuing with a protocol because it was supposed to work.

What might be part of your Gut Lab work?

Your program is individualized, so there isn’t a predetermined checklist everyone receives.

Depending on your needs, our work may include:

  • Nutrition and food-pattern assessment
  • Digestive and gut-health history
  • Review of existing lab and functional testing
  • Targeted testing when it can meaningfully inform our next step
  • Microbiome-focused assessment when appropriate
  • Nutrient and mineral considerations
  • Supplement review and prioritization
  • Foundational nutrition and lifestyle support
  • Digestive support
  • Practical implementation and troubleshooting
  • Education and resources you can return to between sessions
  • Coordination with your medical or other healthcare providers when appropriate

The goal isn’t to do more. It’s to do what makes sense.

Who is The Gut Lab for?

The Gut Lab may be a good fit if:

  • You’ve already tried multiple approaches and haven’t gotten where you want to be.
  • Your situation has several moving pieces that don’t fit neatly into a single issue.
  • You’ve had testing but want help making sense of it in context.
  • You want more than a one-time set of recommendations.
  • You’re willing to take time to implement changes and learn from your response.
  • You want individualized support rather than another generic gut protocol.
  • You’re ready to be an active participant in the process.

You don’t have to have everything figured out before you start.

But The Gut Lab does require a commitment to the process. We’re not looking for a quick fix. We’re building a better understanding of your particular situation over time.

What if I’m not sure I need The Gut Lab?

That’s exactly what the What’s Up With My Gut? call is for.

If your situation sounds like it could benefit from a focused gut assessment, we may start with the Gut Health Discovery + Implementation instead.

If your concerns extend beyond your gut and you want someone to step back and look at the bigger picture, the Comprehensive Nutrition Evaluation may make more sense.

And if you’re already pretty sure that your situation is complex and you’re looking for longer-term support, we can talk about whether The Gut Lab is the right place to begin.

You don’t have to figure out which service you need by yourself.

A note about my role

I’m a Holistic Nutrition Professional, not a licensed medical provider. I don’t diagnose, treat, or cure disease, and The Gut Lab is not a substitute for medical care.

My role is to provide individualized nutrition and wellness support within my scope.

When something needs medical evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, or another type of specialized care, I’ll encourage you to work with the appropriate provider. When it makes sense, I can also work alongside your existing healthcare team so that the nutrition and wellness pieces aren’t happening in isolation.
