A focused starting point for gut health
Gut Health Discovery + Implementation
Your gut is bothering you. Maybe you have bloating, constipation, diarrhea, food reactions, unpredictable digestion, or symptoms that seem to change from one week to the next.
Maybe you’ve already changed your diet or started taking supplements. Maybe you’ve spent hours searching for answers and still aren’t sure what actually matters.
You don’t necessarily need a giant health overhaul. You may just need someone to take a focused look and help you figure out where to start.
The Gut Health Discovery is designed for exactly that.
When you want to focus on the gut
This is a focused nutrition and wellness evaluation for adults, children, and families whose primary concerns involve digestion, food reactions, or gut health.
We’ll look at your history, symptoms, nutrition, lifestyle, existing information, and what you’ve already tried. Together, we’ll identify the patterns and priorities that make sense to explore from a nutrition and wellness perspective.
The goal isn’t to throw a gut protocol at you.
It’s to figure out what deserves your attention first.
What we’ll look at
Your evaluation is individualized, but may include:
- Your digestive and health history
- Current symptoms and patterns
- Food intake and eating patterns
- Food reactions and dietary restrictions
- Bowel patterns and digestive function
- Relevant lifestyle factors
- Current supplements
- Existing laboratory or functional testing
- What you’ve already tried and how you responded
- Areas of nutrition or lifestyle that may be worth prioritizing
You don’t need to have everything figured out before we begin. That’s part of what we’ll work through together.
Gut health support for children and infants
Gut health isn’t just an adult conversation.
I also work with children and families, including infants, and have specialized training in the developing microbiome and early-life nutrition through my Natural Early Life Health certification. This training informs how I think about the unique nutritional and microbial environment during pregnancy, infancy, and early childhood.
When working with a child, the approach is naturally different. We consider the child’s age and development, food intake, digestive patterns, symptoms, health history, and the bigger family context, while coordinating with the child’s pediatrician, gastroenterologist, IBCLC, or other appropriate providers when needed.
My role is not to diagnose or treat a child or infant. I provide nutrition and wellness support within my scope and can help parents identify nutritional and lifestyle considerations to discuss with their child’s healthcare team.
What about labs?
Testing isn’t automatically part of your starting point.
If you already have laboratory or functional testing, we can consider that information in the context of your history and current concerns.
If additional testing could meaningfully help answer a question or guide what we do next, we can discuss that too.
Sometimes the best next step is a lab.
Sometimes it’s a food or nutrition change.
Sometimes it’s something much simpler.
The goal is to gather the information that is useful, not collect information for its own sake.
What happens after the Gut Health Discovery?
This is where the Implementation Strategy Session comes in.
Rather than trying to cram assessment, interpretation, and a detailed plan into one appointment, we separate the work.
First: Discover
We spend our initial session understanding your history, concerns, patterns, and priorities.
Then: Make a plan
After I’ve had time to put the pieces together, you’ll receive individualized recommendations and practical next steps. We’ll use the Implementation Strategy Session to walk through those recommendations, answer questions, and make sure you know what you’re actually doing.
From there, you may decide you have what you need to move forward independently.
Or you may benefit from additional follow-up support.
If your situation turns out to be more complex than a focused gut evaluation can reasonably address, we can talk about whether Comprehensive Nutrition Evaluation or The Gut Lab makes more sense.
This is for you if…
- Your primary concern is digestive or gut health.
- You want a focused starting point rather than a broad health overhaul.
- You’ve tried some things but aren’t sure what to do next.
- You have existing labs or testing you want considered in context.
- You want individualized recommendations rather than another generic gut protocol.
- You’re ready to make changes but want help figuring out which changes matter most.
A note about my role
I’m a Holistic Nutrition Professional, not a licensed medical provider. I don’t diagnose, treat, or cure disease.
My role is to provide individualized nutrition and wellness education and support within my scope. When something needs medical evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, or another type of specialized care, I’ll encourage you to work with the appropriate provider.
When appropriate, I can also work alongside your existing healthcare team so the nutrition and wellness pieces are considered as part of the bigger picture.
Not sure if this is where you should start?
That’s what What’s Up With My Gut? is for.
We’ll talk about what’s going on, what you’ve already tried, and whether a focused Gut Health Discovery is the right starting point for you.
